Use Sticky Notes 1.0 to create notes right on your Windows desktop. Pin them on top of other windows if you need to keep them visible at all times. If they get in your way,
you can minimize, un-pin or roll them up into a narrow strip so you can continue to work and yet have your notes at your fingertips. If you need to schedule a reminder,
either a one time or recurring, you can do that with just a few mouse clicks. If you wish you can also play a sound to get your attention when the reminder is due.
Sticky Notes also supports Drag and Drop functionality to enable an easy copying information from other application. See feature section below for more information
and screen shots.
STICKY NOTES 1.0 - FEATURES
Single Click Pin / Unpin
To keep the notes at your fingertips Sticky Notes features a single click Pin/Unpin (
see Picture 1). When your note is "pinned" it will stay on top of all other
windows, so you can keep working with other applications and still have you notes available on your screen. When not needed you can unpin your note
and it will drop behind other active windows.
Roll-Up / Unroll
To help users keep the windows clutter free, Sticky Notes offers an option to roll your notes into a narrow strip. Once "rolled up" they can be moved to a screen area where it will not
interfere with other applications and yet be visible and ready to use with a single click of your mouse. See the
pictures below.
Reminder Alarms
When you create a reminder note with Sticky Notes, there is not need to keep it on your screen at all times. You have an option to set up a reminder.
As long as the Sticky Notes are running on your computer it will notify you that your reminder is due, bring the reminder note to your attention by flashing its
title bar and play sound if you selected that option. You can configure a single reminder or a recurring one. For recurring reminders you can setup hourly, daily
or monthly reminders. Please see the screen shots below for available options.
Drag And Drop
When working with multiple applications people often need to transfer (Copy and Paste) text between two or more different windows. This is often true when
browsing the Internet and collecting information from multiple websites. Sticky Notes can help you to simplify the process by featuring drag and drop functionality.
If your application supports drag and drop you can transfer text to and from a sticky note by simply selecting text and dragging it to its new destination. To see a demo
please watch the video on the right (use Full Screen option or got to Youtube - control buttons in the lower righ-hand corner of the video window).
Auto-Size
Sticky Notes feature Auto-Size option that will size your note as needed while you type. It will even reposition the note to keep it on the screen. Because the size is limited to
about half of your screen, once you reach the maximum size it will show you scroll bars to to view hidden parts of your note.
Auto Save
Your notes are automatically saved when you close them, therefore there is not need for the user to remember to save your notes.
The first line of your note is automatically set as the note title and can be used to navigate to the desired note. If user removes all
text from a note it will be removed from the note collection upon application exit.
Snap To Edge
If you need a bigger note Sticky Note provides you with a Snap To Edge feature that enables you to quickly expand the note size
by dragging either the note's title bar or the size corner (lower-right) near any edge of your screen. Once your mouse is the Snap To Area,
your mouse cursor will change and if you release the mouse button the note will resize to half of the screen (left and right edge) or stretch
to the full screen height (top and bottom edge). Because this feature is build into the Sticky Notes, it is available in all versions of Windows
(Windows Snap To function had been introduced with Windows 7).
Customize Font / Note Color
As you add new notes Sticky Notes will alternate between eight different color backgrounds for your notes. If you want to change the background
color of your current note, simply click on the Font & Color command on your tools menu and chose one of the eight available colors for your note.
Use the same command to change font settings for all your notes.
Auto Start With Windows
By default a shortcut to Sticky Notes is placed on your desktop so the application is only a double-click away at all times. But if you use Sticky Notes often you
might consider enabling them to start when you computer loads operating system. To do that simply check that option on your tools menu and Sticky Notes will
load automatically next time you restart your computer.
